Dan Palatnik is a gifted artist from Rio de Janeiro.  Over the last 20-years he has created some truly beautiful 3-D computer models of classic automobiles.  His renderings have been showcased at the prestigious Amelia Island Concourse d’ Elegance, and also published in the pages of Hemmings Motor News.  Dan’s portfolio of work encompasses a broad spectrum of cars, starting from the brass era and moving all the way up through modern times.  His specialty is modeling the “one-off” factory concept cars of the 1950’s.  In addition to his mastery of Autodesk 3DS Max and Chaos V-Ray software, Dan is also an incredibly knowledgeable automotive historian.

We approached Dan with the idea of crafting photo-realistic images of the 1920 Frontenac race cars.  One of the obstacles in this project was the lack of any surviving cars, or any original blueprints in which to work from.  He was intrigued by the challenge, and has spent many hours studying the vintage photographs of the Chevrolet Brothers racing team.  The finished results are quite remarkable, and are featured here for your enjoyment.  Thank you Dan for bringing these cars back to life, and for allowing us the opportunity to admire these wonderful machines in a new light.
